Minecraft is an open world game in which players have all the freedom you can imagine. The core of the game revolves around breaking and placing blocks. The game world is essentially made up of crude 3D objects - primarily cubes - arranged in a fixed grid pattern representing various materials such as earth, stone, various ores, water and tree trunks. While players can move freely in the world, objects and items can only be placed in fixed locations relative to the grid.
