Minecraft is an open world game in which players have all the freedom you can imagine. The core of the game revolves around breaking and placing blocks. The game world is essentially made up of crude 3D objects - primarily cubes - arranged in a fixed grid pattern representing various materials such as earth, stone, various ores, water and tree trunks. While players can move freely in the world, objects and items can only be placed in fixed locations relative to the grid. Players can collect these blocks of material and place them elsewhere, allowing for various constructions.
You start your journey in Minecraft with only your fists and start mining your first resources. Soon you'll build your first small base to be safe from the evil creatures at night. There are several different resources in Minecraft that can be assembled into new blocks, items and technologies.
In itself, Minecraft has no storyline and you can do whatever you want. The absolute endgame, however, is to travel to the so-called "end" and defeat the Enderdragon there. To get there, however, many many hours of fun, joy and despair await you in Minecraft.
