Game Overview

The Booster Course Pass isn't a standalone game, but downloadable content (DLC) for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. It significantly expands the game by adding 48 new courses, remastered from previous Mario Kart titles. This nearly doubles the number of available tracks, providing a wealth of fresh racing experiences.

Storyline and Setting

As a DLC, the Booster Course Pass doesn't introduce a new storyline. Instead, it expands the existing world of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by bringing in classic courses from across the Mario Kart series. These courses are set in a variety of locations, from familiar Mushroom Kingdom locales to exotic international destinations.

Gameplay Features

The core gameplay remains the same as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: fast-paced kart racing with power-ups, drifting, and trick jumps. The Booster Course Pass enhances this by adding a huge selection of new tracks. These tracks are released in waves, each containing eight courses divided into two cups.

Co-op or Multiplayer

The Booster Course Pass fully supports both local and online multiplayer, just like the base game. You can race with friends and family on the new courses, either in person or online.

Editions and DLCs

The Booster Course Pass is available as a standalone purchase or as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. There are no different editions of the Booster Course Pass itself.

System Requirements

Since the Booster Course Pass is DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you only need the base game and a Nintendo Switch console to play.
