About ELEX

ELEX Game Info

Explore the post-apocalyptic world of ELEX, a science fantasy RPG where technology and magic collide.

Game Overview

ELEX is an open-world action RPG developed by Piranha Bytes, the creators of the Gothic and Risen series. Released in 2017, ELEX combines elements of science fiction and fantasy, placing players on the planet Magalan after a devastating meteor strike. The game features a vast world to explore, diverse factions to join, and a complex morality system that influences the story.

Storyline and Setting

Magalan was once a technologically advanced planet. After the meteor impact, a new substance called Elex was introduced, changing the environment and giving rise to different factions. Each faction uses Elex in a unique way, from enhancing magical abilities to powering advanced technology. Players take on the role of Jax, a former Alb commander who is stripped of his powers and must navigate the dangerous world, choosing a faction and shaping the future of Magalan.

Gameplay Features

  • Open World Exploration: Explore a vast and diverse open world filled with secrets, dangers, and opportunities.
  • Faction Choice: Join one of three distinct factions – the Berserkers, the Clerics, or the Outlaws – each with its own values, skills, and questlines.
  • Combat System: Engage in fast-paced combat using a variety of weapons, from swords and axes to bows and plasma rifles.
  • Moral Choices: Make impactful decisions that affect the story and your character's alignment.
  • Jetpack: Use a jetpack to traverse the environment, reach hidden areas, and gain a tactical advantage in combat.

Co-op or Multiplayer

ELEX is a single-player experience and does not feature co-op or multiplayer modes.

What to check before you buy ELEX

Is it safe to buy from key shops?

Key shops are retailers or marketplaces on which other sellers also offer keys. Before you buy, read the product page of the shop: it shows the region, the platform and the type of the offer. A payment method with buyer protection gives you more security if a problem occurs.

Key, gift or account?

A key is a code that you redeem yourself in the platform client. You accept a gift through your account, often with a region lock. An account gives you the login data of an account that holds the game, and the game does not belong to you. For this reason, the product type filter does not show accounts by default.
